NINJA WARRIOR (or DIY obstacle course)Have you seen the TV show American Ninja Warrior? It's pretty intense, and if you would like to try something like that, GET AIR has many of the components (minus the water features) in a slightly smaller scale.
For the rest of you, there are other options: 1. Visit your local playground, and decide on the Ninja Warrior 'path' incorporating all the playground components, like the monkey bars, balance beams, ziplines, stairs, climbing walls, slides and more. Take turns completing the path, while timing each other to try to improve on your own previous time. 2. Why not build a course in your backyard? It can be as simple or complex and you want it to be. Here are some ideas to get you started: Use materials such as lumber, bricks, stumps, PVC pipe, tires or anything else you may have access to. Before you play, check to make sure there are no hazards that need to be taken care of first. |
NOODLE GAMESPool noodles are an easy inexpensive way to make a variety of games and activities that will be fun for all ages. Pool noodles can be purchased at dollar stores in the spring and summer.

NORDIC WALKINGThis is a great full body workout where you can walk and enjoy the outdoor scenery. This activity can be done by non-athletes and athletes. For this activity you will need some walking poles similar to ski poles. The Lethbridge Public Library has many sets of walking poles in their equipment collection that you can borrow.
Here are some walking trails in Lethbridge. |
